That was excellent. I loved it. ^.^ Adore the history of Yuan and Botta and the forming of the Renegades.

This story was awesome, and a great start to the Renegades. I love the relationship that Yuan and Botta formed, and it makes me really sad everytime I finish Rodyle's Ranch, knowing that he dies. :(

I like the way you've described the declining world of Tethe'alla and the flourishing world of Sylvarant (or at least certain areas). It's always interesting to see other people's views of what they think the worlds would be like if their roles were reversed.

Now that THAT'S out of the way... *WOW*. I absolutely love this fanfic! I read the whole thing today and loved every moment of it. I was browsing around for Botta fanfics, and I actually ended up reading your Thoda Hot Springs story first. I was quite impressed with it, to say the least, and since you said that it was an in-between teaser for two of your other fanfics about the same people... Well, how could I resist? Your writing is addictive. ^_^
And THIS was a work of art. The Renegades don't get enough press, possibly because there's not a lot to go on... but in another way, there IS a lot to go on. The backstory is really open to a lot of interesting interpretations. You did an amazing job with this - I loved the way you tied all of the little hints in the storyline together into a cohesive narrative, your writing and your channeling of the characters, and your dynamic writing style. I can really picture everyone saying and moving in my mind... it really makes the story interactive, interesting, and... it just has a sense of completion and realness behind it. It's really amazing, and I earnestly look forward to reading the sequel when it's not 4 o'clock in the morning. xD

Oh, and I wholeheartedly agree with Yuan – capes are awesomesauce. ^_^

I just sat down and read that whole story in one sitting-- it was pretty compelling. You've done a great job of representing the characters we see so little of in the game in a way that isn't how we would necessarily expect them to see but doesn't cause the reader cognitive dissonance by the differences in their behavior.
