You didn't just throw them into a relationship, and that made the difference. I love how you put in the part about Tom being demoted because that to me was always a very strong point between the two, just like the parts from Threshold. (of course, any decent starship needs a Designated Bad Boy, or Bad Girl--cf Vash, who could have done that one in her sleep--to amuse the rest and make deals with aliens the others won't touch but the ship needs anyway). Good story! |
