Like, excessive romance would have been out of place here, and I think the way you've written it fits these two very nicely. I encourage you to write more! And I hope very much so that you do, because if you ever write more about Shizune and Kabuto... Well, to put it mildly, I'd be very interested in reading it.

Some Scribbles 2007-01-18 ch 1,	abuseOh, this was very lovely! laughs The fact that Kabuto was set up while he was doing something innocuous and 'clinging to normal life-ish' I find ironically hilarious. I think one of my favorite parts about this one-shot is that you had Shizune file off her callouses. I am attempting to write a Naruto story now (I blame your writing entirely) and before that I was writing a spy-type story, and so I am very much intrigued with little 'tells' that could give the game away. "I'm in your nervous system," is a fabulous introductory line. Really, the conflict between these two medics is so balanced, so on edge, because each of them knows exactly what the other one is doing. Also the parallels of acolytes finding themselves suddenly misplaced, I appreciated just as much as the parallels between the instructor and the new pupil. Somehow it all wraps up very nicely. I think the fact that she didn't actually hurt him through Kabuto off balance as much as the fact that she got the jump on him in the first place. I really like the way you portrayed the character's interaction--again, it just balances very well and you get a good sense of tension throughout. Nicely done!
