So you want to know what I think? I think… I think… I think that there needs to be more Hiro*Ando of such wonderful, sweet, melancholy awesome as this fic.

Here I thought I was lucky to stumble on Hiro/Ando at all, and it turns out to be well-done, too. The interwoven idioms are a very nice touch (cultural notes in shaded boxes in language textbooks made me laugh, because I've seen those so many times). I like the handle you have on the balance of the friendship between them; how Ando's practicality, instead of being alienated or exasperated (much) by Hiro's...Hiro-ness, just makes him more loyal and determined to help him in any way he can.

One thing: it's 'aishiteiru,' not 'aishitewa.' (/Japanese geek)

Oh, and "Hammering the shiny metallic ring of his bright Japanese vowels into the darker, rounder syllables of English words" is a really lovely phrasing.

I adore this pairing, and there's so little of it out there. But Hiro and Ando are just so adorable. Ahh. And this was just lovely, I really liked Ando's perspective. Well done!
