well that was rather depressing

Holy Shit.

I really try not to swear in reviews because it's terribly impolite, but that's really the most apt reaction I can give. Wow. That brought a far more interesting twist to the Grenouille storyline than the show managed, and Tony is so ridiculously in character that it hurts.

"he wishes he and Ziva had done more, been more, told each other more, because someday she'll be gone too. She'll disappear like Kate, like Jeanne, like his mother, like all the women he's ever loved, and he doesn't know how to stop it."

Amazingly great story; I am glad to have discovered your writing.

Am I allowed to review something four years late?

I'm on a quest, and I've traveled back in time to the beginning of it all, on a mission to unearth the founding fathers (and mothers, if you want to be politically correct) of Tiva while writing the most utterly cheesy, bad movie commercial-reminiscent reviews the world has ever seen.

And, yeah, I know this isn't actually Tiva, but it's fantastic. It made me jealous, so I'm subjecting you to a mile-long review as my revenge. Mwa ha ha and all that jazz.

This was amazing, properly misleading and utterly heart-breaking, with an awesome plot twist and enough hurt-Tony to bring tears to the eye. I loved it.

So, yeah. Better late than never, right? :) Thanks for sharing.

-damn- you write angst well. wow. seriously. wow. the bit about "that's not how I would do it" and that it took him 10 mins to work out why that didn't calm them down was well done. heck- the whole thing was fantastic. you're damn good.

You hit Tony's stream of consciousness spot on. You struck the precarious balance of humor and tragedy perfectly. Your talent is remarkable.

A bit depressing, bur nicely done!

This left me in awe. The way the "how" is meshed with the "now" is very, very well done. The impromptu bake sale was a dash of humor in an otherwise extremely somber fic. Poor Tony, it really does seem like they "never do" love him back.

“I know,” he says. “They never do.”

Wow.

That one word summed up my feelings for this story. Wonderfully written and I love how you let us read the whole story before finding out everything towards the end. Its depressing and sad but I LOVED IT and really, I think I would have liked it if it had ended this way. So much more poetry in this one.

OMG, I can't belive I hadn't read this one! I LOVE your stuff, but I totally missed this.

I had tears in my eyes almost from the beginning. You have a way of really showing off Tony's inner turmoil of emotions, and I think he's tired of FEELING.

Fav lines:

"I wouldn’t do it like that."

It takes him a good ten minutes to figure out what that only freaks them out more.

Okay, I just read this again for the first time in ages and just wanted to say that I still love it. It's wonderful, and heartwrenching, and I feel every minute of it. *le sigh*
