To Hellcop and Thr: Monkey's a character in Chinese mythology. (Hint to Adrian: you captured his personality well.) The other guys are his buddies, from a big-as-hell novel called Journey to the West. (Quite a few books. I tried reading them all . . . and couldn't.)
