JJ Rust 2008-05-11 ch 1,	abusePretty good story. You really did a great job capturing Chloe's personality, as well as her little (and crush) on Jack. I also liked her perception of herself. Nice little one shot. I really miss 24. Stupid writer's strike. Oh yeah, Sutherland's DUI didn't help matters anyway. No this season, but of course we have American Idol out the wazzo. Life ain't fair.

The new car smell was quickly being replaced by Jack smell. Her nose wrinkled. He really needed a bath." I had to laugh when I read that, undoubtedly my housemates think I am certifiable because I did it again a few minutes later. “It’s nothing. I hurt myself trying to hop a freight train in Oklahoma City. I not as young as I used to be.” “I never met anyone who was. You need a car.” “I’ll get a job somewhere. I’ll get something.” Chloe paused, she really, really, really didn’t want to say this next sentence. “Take my car Jack. I’ll give it to you.” Her voice quivered a bit." Hee, congratulations for capturing the nuance in what makes Chloe so Chloe. You really stayed true to her character here.

Thank you so much for dedicating this wonderful little piece to me, and I'm glad my little nag inspired you. :D Anyway, I just love Chloe here for being so selfless. She's so like Jack in that way. Always seeing the big picture and making choices for the benefit of the greater good, even if it means she ends up with the short end of the stick. And I especially like how you had "the greater good" translate in Chloe's mind into "what's good for Jack". Speaking of which, yay for Jack being in the story! The way you set up his Frank Flynn backstory is very interesting and fits well with what we know from the show. And thanks for filling in that gaping sinkhole of plausibility in the s5 prequel. I can't say I've seen many hobos driving such shiny new cars either. :P Another great story, and as always, a spot-on character study of our favourite prickly but lovable techie!
