why are you apologizing for the time it took you to write?...you can't force creativity or it comes out terrible (trust me on this...though you probably already know that...)

and the chapter was a good length...sure longer ones are usually more captivating...unless they are boring or pointless in every sense of the word...better to be short and useful than long-winded and dull
