You really managed to capture the way Kara thinks and her different relationships with the different members of the cast. Lee and Sam especially, but the bits with Adama and Helo and Athena were brilliant too. I think you're a fantastic writer and I can't wait to see where this goes!!

freak-pudding 2008-04-08 ch 6,	abuseHonestly, this is hard for me. I hate leaving reviews on unfinished stories, because I like to have the full picture of a story before passing judgment. But I've had a strange streak of serendipity lately (I deeply apologize for the uncalled-for alliteration), and your story has touched me. I have an obsession with babyfic that I haven't been able to break for several years, and I've trolled many a fandom in search of a believable, in-character babyfic (which, shockingly, is much like the mythical Sasquatch: big, hairy, and a bit blurry on close inspection). Not only do you paint a realistic representation of unplanned pregnancy, you manage to wedge it perfectly into canon. Your Kara is, refreshingly, Kara. I was beginning to suspect that my interest in fan fiction had been bludgeoned to death with the business end of a machete, but reading this story (beyond warming the cockles of my shipper-soaked heart) makes me want to sit in front of my computer for the next year, hitting refresh over and over until a new chapter appears. Um, well, I mean...I won't stalk you or anything, but you've made a rather rabid fan. And you've helped inspire me to continue on with my own ridiculous babyfic that I'd given up on a long, long time ago. So, uh, I guess, I want to say thanks. And keep on keepin' on. With the writing. I'm starting to creep myself out now, so I'll just go.

Not a completely typical writing style, and yeah, as someone with an 11 month old and 6 months pregnant again I will say there are some... inaccuracies here and there, but it doesn't take away from the story at all and I must say I am surprised at how much I liked this. You're very talented and the pace of Kara's character development was superb. GREAT job, and I can't wait for another installment. This is a real boon to the BSG fanfiction community and you should be proud of the work you put in. No story is ever perfect and authors who are completely satisfied with their final product usually just lack ambition ;) Keep it coming, it's well worth your effort and you have a final product to be proud of.

I really like the mood of the whole piece, Kara's mind-set, her ambivalence resentment and wistfulness towards the "weight". I like the arc of her needing to deal with the situation alone (as punishment? as a self-test?) to you slowly having her depend on people around her (Helo, Cally, Lee) "Nine months she’s shouldered this burden alone, but it helped just knowing he was there." This was bittersweet birth chapter: From her feeling the weight and responsibility lifted at the birth, but still keeping her eyes closed to keep the baby as "weight" and not a future. i don't know what you plan next, but I hope that love and her baby can convince her that she's not a burden. Either way, "she knows the story ended the right way" Thanks Again for Updating! Hope to read more soon! (PS, made it difficult to review twice in the same chapter - do you prefer reviews here on ff or on eljay? I reviewed here since it was here I first read this fic)

When I saw the alert in my inbox, I was so surprised and very very happy to see it was a real chapter and not just a note or something unfortunate like that. And what a chapter! I agree that it felt right to just have the birth. And there were so many wonderful things, I couldn't list them all, but here's one: "She sucks in a breath and it tastes like New Caprica, metal and cages and cylon catching in her mouth."
