Aww. I love how touched he is and how everyone bonded and worked together so eagerly out of their love and loyalty to him. I also love how proud they all are of what they did and how elaborate the plan was. Anything with Sheppard and Atlantis' bond is awesome so her pride and glee and his gratitude are splendid. Wonderful job. Perfect gift when he misses his helicopters so much.

Also loved him yelling at the men in the previous chapter. Nice to see him as a commander and officer with his men, and see how effective and respected he is and how he handles that so well.

LOL! This is awesome from Chuck sneaking twinkies and watching the Colonel get his ass whumped on the life signs monitor to the scheming Marines improvising diversions, Teyla (of all people!) conspiring, Lorne blocking the plans from his view, John not acknowledging his birthday because no one ever has but still feeling sad about it, Rodney's impatience, how well everyone know John and how they plan for it, the fake intruder and Atlantis helping them to keep him from knowing. Genius. I love the details, humor, the way there is still angst and honest emotions and not fluff and the pacing. Great job.

This is one of the best friendship-fic I've ever read.
