I share motchi's feelings about you continuing this story. It's just so nice to see a Barret-romance for a change, and a believable one as well. I liked the scene with Tifa and Barret, and how Tifa is immediately supportive of Barret/Elena (hee!), and Elena's interaction with the other Turks, Rude especially. (I definitely approve how she seems to be setting him up with Tifa.) I love the way you write both characters, and I look forward to the next chapter!

Okay, so I think you know how happy I am that you're working on this, right?

Now that we've gotten that out of the way, I can't tell you how impressed I am with your Barret. He's so funny when he's befuddled (what man isn't, really?) and it's such a contrast with his large physical presence. And Tifa just sort of plots and plans around him. He doesn't stand a chance!

And Elena... she's quite a feisty one in this. I like that. I think she'd have to be to work with three guys in that kind of a profession. Plus, she struck me as that way in the game.

All-in-all, I think you've got a good handle on the characters. Everyone seemed believable, and the interactions were smooth and unforced. Can't wait to see Barret and Elena shoot sparks off each other in the next chapter. And maybe Tifa and Rude? Hee! Keep up the good work, Randi.

Oh, and that last line? Win.

This is hands down the most crative pairing I've ever read. Maybe it was meant as an experiment, or intended to be a one-shot, but I'd love to read more.

I liked this a lot! You seem to have really good touch for Elena (I love how edgy she is), and your Barret is great too. He comes off as a person with multiple layers instead of a stereotype he's usually reduced to, and I especially like his very IC protectiveness of Tifa. I'm also impressed with how you turned this very unlikely pairing into a possible one, and the kiss in the end was both believable and lovely. Good job!

verey nice job, we need a sequel here, things can not end up like that, maybe chapter 2 or a sequel.

That pairing IS tough... Barret always struck me as the loner father figure who's wife died and he doesn't date. But then again, who can resist a woman who's deadly with a gun. And her bare hands, and knives, and probably spoons.
