I noticed you used the word “snuck.” The proper word is “sneaked.” If this story were in the first person by Ron Weasley, “snuck” might fit, but Severus would never allow such a word to pass his lips or mind. This is especially true since there's doubtless a horrible working-class Mancunian dialect buried under all those layers of careful elocution and multisyllabic words. Lucius Malfoy, as a true member of the upper crust, can allow himself to be careless, but Severus must always be flawless in order to hide his class origins.

Um. I thought this was wonderfully creative. Laughed at a good bit of it. I love how "accept sweets" has to be a duty for him.

I don't think this was sentimental at all, at least in the "sickly sentimentality" sort of way. I especially enjoyed chapter 12, even sans lemons.
