Great first chapter. This fic is darker than what I usually read, but mostly I'm thrilled to finally find good FMA fanfiction.

I loved this. I really, really loved it.

From the characterizations to the aftermath of the war and to the internal thoughts, it was perfect. It just felt so real, like this was exactly how it was supposed to turn out.

Winry seemed to be a bit of Mary-Sue at first, but then you added in all of this backstory, and it was brilliant. She became a flawed character, granted, a very obviously flawed one, but flawed nonetheless.

You should be intensely proud of this story. It is the best Fullmetal Alchemist fic I've read, and it made me cry.

This story was so astoundingly good. I don't even know what to say. I had to stop a few chapters in, pick up a pen and write for the first time in months. Thank you for writing such an excellent story!

This was my first Fullmetal fic, and I loved it. I like the route you took with Winry, to make her the central character of the story. It was an interesting angle. Great job, and I would love to read a Riza centric fic in this particular story line if you ever get a chance.

I loved it, I think you could have expanded on Ed and winry's relationship.

"Envy was about to protest that he was no one's uncle"

What's funny is, if you think about it, Ed and Al are technically Envy's uncle-if Father was created from Hohenheim, that makes him in a sense Hohenheim's child and Ed and Al's brother, and if Envy is Father's child. . . Well you get the idea.

yeah Ed's character was right on in his reaction, But no way would he and al be that useless in a battle. They DO have combat experience and enough of it to be effective.

Wow. I love what you've done with Winry! I saw the pic on your profile. Amazing. I had to bring up the picture to cross refrence. I love the Winry in the series, dont get me wrong, but now, its totally obvious that Winry can and will take care of herself. In the series, she's more like a fairy than anything, but its fun watch her beat the crap out of Ed and anyone who deserves it, cuz no ones expecting it but Ed.

wow! it took me less than 24 hours to read this between college time. I have to admit: this is one of the best stories i've read!

You've portrayed Winry so brave, so strong, so commanding, so different from the Winry we all knew in the anime. she's such a good leader I can't believe she's even better than the Elric brothers, leaving them cast aside

But i guess from terrible experience she wanted to do something better to forget 's hard to see a person so strong from the outside but shattering inside. it's really touching for the Elric brothers to be her comfort. Someone to lean onto.

You portrayed Envy and Scar so...loyal. but the most loyal is Envy. i loved that. you changed him to be a great character!

And thanks for putting Roy and Riza in this fic. i didn't know friends and families would feel guilty of the rape. You portrayed all these feelings very well.

Last but not least, because i had to go to college, i needed to stop reading. but i couldn't concentrate! . I was on chapter 8! but it's great you wrote your story in a way for readers to keep on reading.
