"Machine" and "no heart, mentally or physically" and revealing the fact that his memory can never fade were clues that stood out to me. It's Erek, isn't it? It has to be. This entire fanfiction just screams "EREK!" Please reply and tell me if I'm right or not. If it is Erek (which I'm 99% sure it is) than I want to put it on my Erek community. Anyways, this was extremely well-written. I absolutely loved it. Poor Erek...

Everything about it reminded me about Jake, I'll have to say, but one single line made me believe it's Erek instead..

"Someone with no heart, mentally or physically."

I'd say Jake has a heart, both mentally and physically. Dunno if Erek has a heart, physically, so I go for him.

I would say it is Cassie because of the bit about the animals that seems so like Cassie. You also see this sort of thing in Book 18 i think where she decides to leave the team because she Killed the horkbajir even after Jake had said Enough.

i think it's erek. this reminded me of how he felt after he overrode his systems with the pemalite crystal and killed a bunch of controllers to save the animorphs.

I think it's Cassie. She was always the one to raise moral issues and the one to suffer the most when she was required to fight. Her lifelong affinity with animals comes out in this and the fact that she considers any life, however small, as a precious and fundamental part of existence.

Very well written. It would be impossible to come out of a war such as this - or indeed, any war - without being affected. The ghosts and memories would stay with you for your whole life. We all think it would be amazing, myself included, to become an Animorph, but are we prepared for the consequences? Warfare is certainly not something to be taken lightly, by any means.

For fear of sounding even more unbearably depressive, I will get on with the actual review. I feel that you have brought out everything mentioned in the above very well and I urge you to carry on writing. Thank you very much.
