1) It says the sea of the Mediterranean, therefore, I guess teh group is on an island somewhere in the Mediterranean Sea. Which explains why they're going for a boat vs a car or such.

2) Something important. (don't you just love my vagueness?) Obviously they did something to piss the general populace off. So, they either stole something rather important, did some act that was highly offensive, or got involved with a group who were enemies of the mob. I'm sticking with the 'they-somehow-insulted-the-kingdude-and-now-everyone's-after-them-for-fame-or-a-reward' theory.

I think that they were trying to steal stuff before hand and that the are a youngish (early?) collage age (17-20)
