This was very much in character for the pair. I could see this situation happening in canon and it is a sweet little start to what needs to become a lover's relationship. Wonderful atmosphere.

Nice. Really nice. The first scene was strong, with watanuki standing there in front of the door, shivering, soaked to the skin, one shoe missing, fearing for his life with the ayakaishi (demon) relatively close to him, but still refusing to knock... It's really Watanuki and his pride. He hates having to depend on Doumeki, and you can tell that he would rather not have to do this at all, not only because he would be causing trouble to someone else, but at the same time shows how much he trusts him. And Doumeki did find him there even when he didn't knock, right? :3
“Come back to bed, Watanuki.” “That sounds weird when you say it,”
One of the best parts. I can't blame Watanuki for distrusting the real meaning behind those words. After all, we all know what Doumeki was thinking, right? Naughty, naughty Doumeki. ;)

Ah...it's cutie fics like this that totally having me shipping Dou/Wat ^_^ Watanuki is just so essentially awkward about at ANY indication of even a friendship between himself and Doumeki, that any progression from friendship to a "relationship"relationship would have to happen through liddle baby steps like this absolutely cutely amazing one-shot you've got here. ^_^ I loved Doumeki's sorta sixth sense when it comes to Watanuki...I hate to keep using the word 'cute' to say how much I love this fic, but I simply cannot help myself! The wonderful, perfect awkwardness of their relationship was so perfectly captured by you in this fic, that all I wanna do is squeal. ^_^ Kudos and thanks, me.
