I didn't get it at first when I read it, but I read two more times and then it all clicked-- it's when Byakuya and Renji have to go bring Rukia back, don't they? Anyways, I thought both Renji and Byakuya were really in character. Great job :D

The story is great; I really love it! XD Just maybe add a little something... a sub-title...? to clue the (not so swift) reader in on what's going on.
