The last two sentences made me shiver... Good job!

"When the weekend is over and Roger is back home in the city, gazing emptily out the window, he knows that he and Mark are staring at the same stars and moon."

That line, for me, was especially good. Reason being, I have pretty much that same philosophy. Looking at the moon is connection, because somewhere else, someone else may be looking at that very same moon.

aww! the end is so sweet! and I love that you put "no day but today" in Mark's speech-- it's so perfect! and of course I love Roger's trance-like boredom and his realization at the end that he has been hearing Mark SING, and really really well! :) I love it!!

I gigged insanely at "This, Roger can do."

It was very nice. A very interesting take on Mark and Roger's friendship.
