Your story was very creative and good. Though I don't really like stories that have manipulative Dumbledore, I did like this one. You wrote it in a way that was believable and understandable. I liked the way Harry killed Voldemort...so much better then the way he did in the book, that bugged me to no end. I really enjoyed reading your story!

This story isn't what I thought it would be going in--and I'm just now realizing that, I think. But I'm hooked, possibly with a few of Harry's use of the Merlin hooks . . .

And I've read 40 of the 50 chapters all in one day. Now I'm hoping that I can go to sleep long enough to allow my spine to straighten back out - *laugh* - just so I can finish the damn thing. :P

A well-thought out and executed story.

not to be a downer, but i couldn't make it through your story. i know this is usually the thing to keep to ones' self, but i just had to say (write) it. i got to chapter 25 and i just couldn't take it. i read chapter 50 (to see how it played out) and i still feel ambivalent about it. on the one hand, harry's really angsty and depressed and in comes snape to help him out, eventually succeeding with the death of voldemort. i thought it was great that snape never succumbed to harry the way he does in other stories where they become the bestest of friends (i like that too on occasion, but not too overdone), so he keeps a lot of his original character. i think that i had the most trouble reading about harry from this pov. i know there are a lot of stories where harry goes dark, or crazy, or really out in left-field, but where does that come from? from OotP and onwards i really feel that yes, harry is an angsy bastard who takes it for granted that he's responsible for all these people's well fare, but he never becomes suicidal. maybe that's what turned me off to this story - harry's character is just so misplaced to me that i can't actually decide on any feeling towards this story.

You really have a talent for this.
The psychological play is amazing, and your characters have interest and depth. They are consistent yet constantly surprise the reader. You've made Harry's reasoning really believable, and your Snape (I've been struggling with writing him for a while) is amazing. It's hard to explain, but I love the way they sort of chase each other's tails with their leaps in logic/reasoning. Also, they both have human, believable motives and thoughts, which, without deviating terribly from their cannon characters, is hard to carry off!
You write excellently and the writing lends insight into the characters while not getting in the way of the storyline. Though I generally don't read darker fics, (those who write them generally have a proclivity for unconvincing reasoning and pages of badly written, ill reasoned angst) I am really enjoying this story. The story is is dark, but also so real.
