i've read this awhile back ago, but didn't leave a review. I was being lazy. this fic was the 2nd fic i've read with sephxtif pairing. the first one was "Employee Relations". This was fun to read like its companion piece (well, i call it that).

All right, must get this out of the way first: "Zack!"

I mentioned this in another review for you, but I wanted to expand on it for this story. Must be quite a change-up for you to go from dark fic to something in Bleu's universe. It's hard enough trying to evolve your own style, let alone trying to adapt it to fit the voice of someone else's story.

Who can imitate Bleu, after all? It's certainly not something I'm looking forward to attempting. So, instead of trying to replicate, you went for writing your own take on her characters—which was a wise thing to do. Your Tifa's just as hard-nosed, but less snarky. Your Roth is less belligerent, and more of a kinder (okay, maybe not), wiser Roth.

At any rate, it works. And kudos to you for setting your jaw and braving someone else's characters.

I caught it! But before I get too cocky I didn't make the connection until about half-way through the story that "Roth" was Sephiroth. In my defense I haven't read "Employee Relations"...but yeah, it's pretty lame that I didn't get it.

Sorry it took so long for me to review, I'm being lazy. :) I liked the banter between the two and the way you described Tifa's internal conflicts. I also liked you incorporating tidbits from motchi's fic in there. So clever.

My brain is mush right now, so I'll try to leave a more meaningful review on your other stories/chapters that I haven't gotten to later.

Haha! I never imagined Seph...err...Roth as the V-Day type, but it was fun to read this. I don't know what it is about this pairing, but the dynamic is one of the things that keep me hooked. I think you did a wonderful job with Bleu's universe, and I'm glad you shared it with all of us as well.

I particularly enjoyed how Tifa is so determined to be right all the time that she can't even allow herself to enjoy his interest. Some of her over-the-top hostilities are really, just thinly veiled reprimands to herself for allowing a weak thought in favor of her 'opponent'.

Clearly, the lady doth protest too much, methinks.
