Nice story! I just came across this, didn't realise the show had a different title in the US, it's called Randall & Hopkirk (deceased) in Britain.

It happens I've been working on a BtVS / Angel / Randall & Hopkirk thing for a while, not quite the same idea but some similarities, it isn't likely to be finished any time soon, but I wanted to warn you up front in case you thought I was ripping your idea off when it eventually appears.

Darn, the rest of us could use "protection" like that. (Just don't let a ghost take a liking to Lana...)
