Oh, poor Doctor! Clever idea, and very well put together. I didn't guess at all until Jackie disappeared what was going on.
I'm not saying I've read every post-Doomsday fic out there, but this did seem very original to me, too, so congratulations for a new take on a situation which everyone in the fandom has written to death! :D

Very well written. I liked your use of emotion, by the end of the story I wanted to give the Doctor a hug. He sure could use it.
