I don't know about unnecissary, but Spanish- please don't mistake me for sounding like a tool for pointing this out- derives from, like, Spain. Which is in the Wizard's world. So, needless to say, it wouldn't be known in Oz. You could make up your own language using foriegn countries near Oz, like Quox. Or Filaan. Nobody uses Filaan as much as Quox, I don't know why. There's another country shown on the map in the book, I think, but I'm too lazy to go get it. Sorry.

P.S. "Earbobs" is a word. At least, spellcheck took it. It's in "Gone With The Wind" a lot, I think it's just a dated term for dangly earings. It seemed a Galinda-esque phrase, anyway.

oh my gosh i absolutely love this! there were so many humorous points that i can't even say all of the best...

“I wasn’t finished! I made that word up. It’s a word that combines ‘wicked’ and ‘bitch’. You’re a Wicked Bitch!” (i think that that one just may be the best) fiyero's screen name got me, too. lastly, when glinda got totally obsessed over the smilies...i could totally see her doing that.
