Sparda's helplessness is quite interesting, and Maria's character is formidable.

It's interesting how Maria, who is Lady's ancestor, starts out as Sparda's enemy, then the two of them become allies, they save the World together and she grows to care for him. History repeats itself.

This was an interesting version of the story. I like how you pointed out that it was "discomfort", not pain, that wore at Sparda.

Rebirth in the same manner she was reborn. And with a tiny amount of humor thrown in (yeah, he probably did deserve that). I think I like your version of the priestess more; Maria is a lot fiestier than Elisia. Poor Sparda. But hey, at least things improve for him a bit, right?
