This is exceedingly silly, but an excellent display of your skills nonetheless. Even so, there's one thing I didn't get:

"Nazumi stood behind the inspector, wearing a satisfied smile."

So, this guy's girlfriend has been so satisfied that she's still sitting in a small puddle, but he's the one smiling? They must have a very open and forgiving relationship.

Excellent dialogue, nice pacing and just a funny story. Well done.
