This story was very satisfying! I like your little turns of phrase, 'Ikea wonderland' and 'black-rimmed goblin eyes' especially. They made me happy. Also, I can very much picture Raito being like that at age eight, with the zoo and everything... This all made me feel amused and sort of peaceful, and really really wanting to take a nap in the sun. You're good with descriptions.
