In the book, i don't believe that they mention Erik's last name. But i know that in the movie starring Robert Englund, Erik's last name is Destler.

erik doesn't have a last name, but in phantom of th opera, robert englud his last name is Destler I put him the last name lie the star of interview with the vampire "de la pointe dulac"

ah. so you did go with Destler...

i liked this epilogue very much, actually... it's very small, but the clipped length keeps it realistic, and wonderfully understated, which only enhances it. (I have no idea if that makes sense...it did in my mind, but whatever...)

sorry, but in the book no last name is mentioned. I know a lot of people go along with the whole "Destler" deal from the '89 movie (a poor choice for a last name, in my humble opinion...), but personally I like to envision him with a more Scandinavian-sounding last name, as his first name is of Scandinavian origin...

anyway, whatever you choose should be alright... I know the whole marriage deal is problematic with no last name, but i usually choose to overlook that fact... o_~
