Hilarious story! :) I see now why Ginny always stole the boys' socks...her mum tried to dress her too-"girlie"! I still wish I knew how she managed to steal Harry's socks when he'd just gotten to the Burrow, though...that's probably a mystery she'll take to her grave, I'm guessing! ;)

For a home-grown Imogen sock scene in this AU, by the way, try "A Question and an Answer" in Imogen's own _Alpha and Omega_. But first, finish reading "Stealing Socks" along with _Carpe Diem_ itself. :)

The Ginny-sock-fetish theme has spread so far in HP fanfic that it's scary – but still very cute.

Nice POV switch in the middle of the story - we, along with Ginny, get a good laugh and something of a shock at the contents of Harry's trunk, before finding out that the dear boy has set her up royally. In his place, I'd want to know how the devil she managed to get hold of the socks, myself. The Sneakoscope was a stroke of genius, particularly since we all know already that he keeps a pair of socks wrapped around it, but *Ginny* probably wouldn't know. The timing of the switch of POV is perfect - just as the reader starts thinking how over the top the contents of the trunk are, we see that they are quite deliberately so. :)

Good note of realism, that being in Harry's dormitory for only the third time would bring back memories of her first search of the room, back in her first year and his second when she ransacked it for the diary (_Chamber of Secrets_, "Cornelius Fudge" of course - the chapter immediately after "The Very Secret Diary").

Hehe, just finished Carpe Diem and this fic is so cute! I can see the different writing styles but both are written so well. *sniff* Talented people! Oh, well, cutesy wutesy is just what I love!
