You seem rather bent on touching my heart in the most inexplainable ways. It's not... a comfortable thing to know when someone is going to die. Much less the exact moment. Doumeki couldn't stay in the world without Watanuki, huh? At least they had a happy life together. Doumeki was so in love... My mother once said that in any relationship, one person will love the other more than they are loved and I think that Doumaki nwas that way. I don't doubt that Watanuki loves Doumeki but Doumeki just loves Watanuki so much more.
Thank you from a weepy fan.

I know I'm starting to sound repetitive, if you have read my reviews up to his point... but it's just so good! Very sad, but in a sweet, tender way. I loved how fitting their deaths were. That Watanuki would go without a fuss, in a very neat way (just like him!) and Doumeki simply following after him. Really like him not to stop pestering Watanuki even in the afterlike. I can just imagine spirit Watanuki yelling at spirit Doumeki in the afterlife for not being able to WAIT DAMMIT! XD
I think it's really cute the way you've portrayed them, not using excesive melodrama. It's not often you find a death fic that captures the real essence of death... it's not glamorous (except in Yuuko's case... she HAD to be Yuuko until the end, of course), it generally doesn't leave you enough time to say a few parting words, and even if you know it's coming, it's always painful. And when people slump to the ground, it's not poetic, it's not pretty, and more often than not they end up in a really undignified position. My mother was an x-ray technician before she retired, and she had her fair share of people fainting in the middle of treatment. According to her, it was just so unexpected that all she could do was grab an arm and slow down their fall, but not be able to break it all the way. More often than not she would be too far from the patient to be able to do anything.
Back to the fic, it was simply beautiful. Sad, bittersweet, but beautiful.

Wow,this story made me go "ouch" and yet smile. Very nicely done. Deathfics aren't really my thing but if more of them were written this well and with such great insight, they could be.

now you've gone and made me cry. i swear i didn't breathe the entire time i read this - so beautiful, So Doumeki - "Wherever Watanuki was going, Doumeki would follow."

how Watanuki will perpetually be a boy to Doumeki - the kindness and delicate nature of him.

i don't have words. you're one of the best xHolic writers i've read.

OMG! -eyes glisten with tears and clasps hand together-...That was beautiful...so sad! It's a strange thought, Watanuki and Doumeki as elders but I LOVED the way you described how Doumeki STILL sees Watanuki as the young boy he met him as. Absolutely beautiful!
