First off its very hard to find a good bubblegum fic and this is one of them. All of the characters are protrayed in a believeable way, you includeing new characters that were not just single line add ons.

The Story was good (just wish thier was more). I especialy like the involvment of Qunicy himself, and the fleshing out of the under used characters (Fargo) Starting to sound like a copy of the above reviewer.

I will echo one of the above reviews about your ending notes. Discribing whats gonig on in Steger mind as a alt personia kinda destroys the feel of what you were biulding on. Until your notes its very plasable that Largo/Masion really is creeping into Stegers mind.

I think you have a Ecellent start here, and hope you find the insperation some day to conitune with it.

If this story were an actual arch for the original BGC series, it would have made an excellent episode to add to the list. Its a shame there was never a sequel, as it would have definitely been worth a read- but its understandable that some things are best left alone too.

I think your characters were realistic and true to their anime personalities and even your original characters tied nicely into this to give it a rounded-out, overall feeling of originality and truth. A job well done, and who knows, perhaps someday another wonderful piece much like this one will grace our computer screens once more...

A little long, but well worth the read. You did a great job keeping the characters in character while moving beyond the source material for them. I liked how you were set up Mackie and Nene, it just naturally follows what was neatly layed out in "Scoop Chase". I also loved the bar that your OC Nash Clancy went to and how made it a rock/metal music centric joint. Lets face it, BGC 2032 did have some of the best rock music either side of the Pacific in the late 80's. I also liked how you fleashed out a couple of the AD police. More often than not they are just nameless, faceless cannon fodder for the boomers. Lastly, you did a great job fleashing out Fargo. I really feel he was an under used character from the series.
One thing I did pick up on is that you subscribe to the theory that Sylia is a boomer, just like Philip K. Dick admitted that in "Bladerunner" Rick Deckard is a replicant. I draw this from the conversation Sylia was with Dr. Raven that she hasn't slept in 5 days. Now even in the future like BGC there are just certain biological limits that humans can't get around, like sleep. Which implies that she does not need it since she is not human.
As for your concern about how well this fic holds up as a Stand Alone Complex, I would say it holds up pretty good, especially if you delete everything after Sylia leaves the bar after her conversation with Fargo.
The only real complaint I have is your authors notes at the end where you explain how it is that Mason is able to talk to Trene Steger. By explaining it away you take away from the story, especially if you want to leave it as a stand alone.

Also, whats wrong with turning to Macross/Robotech as the anime action sci-fi show of yore? It's my all time fovorite. And I do agree with you about some of the "golden age" writters, espeically Richard Lawson, even his blatently self insertion Robotech fics were a joy to read.
