Ah, much love for Konzen. But Konzen and... kissing? Kissing Goujun, no less! An unconventional pairing, but you've made it work.

The way Konzen's thoughts are totally apart from his actions, and very detached from the kiss, I think is what gives this piece it's believability. Although I do find it somewhat amusing that his thoughts seem to be dwelling on Kenren while kissing Goujun!

It would be interesting to ponder on Goujun's motivations and perspectives as well.

The use of present tense here seems out of place:

"Kenren is a General because he earned the position, even if his behavior has threatened to get him fired more than once."
