I loved this story - it makes a change to read a fic where Ruth isn't presented as a cruel ice-queen! :D She is so human in your fic, feeling exactly how I imagined she would after the movie.

As much as i love Rose and Jack's story...i've always wanted to find a story like this, with Ruth.

Even though she could be portrayed as the antagonist, inside she only wanted what she believed was "right" for her family.

Everytime I see this movie, I think of how Ruth felt after it all, what she thought about Rose. This fits this exactly.

Great start. I like the human qualities you've given Ruth. Shows she wasn't a monster after all. I've got one finished Titanic FF up and one that is the sequel to that one that I'm working on. I'd love for you to read them both.
