I think that's the best ending line I've ever read, and I've read some good ones. Less really can be more, lots more, sometimes.

I miss the espionage though, I thought it was a great part of the previous 'episode'. And I miss Reed, I really do.

I must say though, I'm extremely impressed with one thing at least: your bluntness over military sacrifice. I love how you don't flinch from its relentless misery and its absolute necessity given the circumstances. I've never seen anything like that before. I'm writing my own series of fantasy books also involving heavy sacrifice (though it centres more of the necessity to kill rather than be killed), and I will definitely take on your example as my work progresses.

Good ending for Acheron! Strange in that with the last line, Sorrow won., I think your Archer has finally came home from the Xindi conflict.

Have you promoted Dan Hsiao out of your story? I guess that's a better method than killing him off. Now, what happened to Rostova?

Also, why is is Ensign Jefferson's days as a helmsman over since, with starships, visual is really instrumentation visuals and not real eye to eye visuals like todays pilots?

Trip should have told Dan about Marie.
