out of the ashes 2009-05-23 . chapter 3I loved and still love this story as horrifying as it is. You make everything about it so easy to picture and believe. I found that every scene, every line, had me actually seeing what was happening in my mind. Your decision to add in bits of Severus and Peter's thoughts gave it even more depth. You really did a great job keeping the characters true to who they were. There is nothing in this story that I can say could have been done better. My favorite part was the one tender moment Hermione and Severus had, however short lived it was. Please keep writing your stories! I would love to see more from you! |
Liddl15 2009-03-21 . chapter 3Geez... don't ask me why... but I could read this story over and over again and yet always find it brilliant! it's really captivating...

Scourge of Amaranth 2009-03-08 . chapter 3All I can really find within myself to say, sitting here in shock with a twisted lump drilling into my stomach, is: Brava.
This moved me, which is more than most published works and nearly the entirety of the fanfiction genre can say. I subconsciously opened all three of my HP-fic-related accounts, tracked this down, and favorited it while attempting to write an essay and ignore fanfiction.
This was just... phenomenal, in that sickening, enthralling way that makes you want to throw up, more than anything. Reading rarely brings forth any sort of emotional response, callous creature that I am; the horrors of what Hermione went through didn't particularly phase me (perhaps Closet Land has found its way into my DVD player one too many times?)--it was the comprehension of what she lost by being forced to manipulate Peter that makes this piece truly poignant. There was such a potent element of humanity and innocence--lost and gained. It nearly stabs. The fact that Peter truly loved her--and not merely in a warped, malicious way--only makes everything so much more disgusting.
And, you know, that's a good thing.
A very, very good thing.
A quite impressively excellent thing.
There were so many ways writing dealing with subject matter like this could have been cheapened, but every bit of this piece came out... perfectly. It's certainly not something I could ever classify as 'beautiful', but... there's just an aspect of overwhelming, intricate emotion in the simplicity of the language and characters' voices that brings no other adjective to mind.
Because the entire situation is so, so horrific, and at the same time reflects the terrifying contradictions of human nature, it manages to completely ensnare the reader (or, at least, this slightly warped-of-mind reader).
Point being: I am dumbfounded. Shocked speechless (which, in turn, makes me blubber endlessly like this).
Congratulations. You have produced writing of an exemplary quality and received a ridiculously long, rambling review for your efforts.
Thank you.

gangsta.lOver 2008-07-16 . chapter 3wow ... this story was short, in the number of chapters, but long in words and in how much was in one chapter.
i enjoyed readin this a lot, actuali. bcos i believe that it shows how hermione used almost slytherin tactics to ensure her freedom. i reali enjoyed that aspect of her, and of this story.
i also like how you portray hermione, and the ending was fabulous. bittersweet, would say. and those lil snippets of peter and severus' thoughts. they were quite interesting, i must say.
thanks so much for this story .. i guess it's given me another inside into peter. but i do wonder...what ever happnd to severus ? lol.
thank you, though =) |
engravingwordswiththornsofrose 2008-03-04 . chapter 3it was a pretty good story and i quite enjoyed it.. i hope this is not the ending and i hope you update with more chapters |
froschpapperl 2007-10-25 . chapter 3 the whole story was great, but the ending was the best! |
excessivelyperky 2007-06-25 . chapter 3Tremendous story--I can see Hermione capable of this, too--both seducing Pettigrew and being seduced by Snape.
And what a lovely ending--a salute from an opponent that all but Hermione thought was defeated. |
 RedsAttic 2007-05-18 . chapter 3Excellent!
Have you considered a sequel? I'm sure there is more of this wonderful story to tell; it leaves me asking 'what happens next?' and how is Hermione's relationship with the 'boys' and the Order? |
HallucinatingDreams 2007-05-05 . chapter 1Pushing the back button...HAH! As if I would actually want to do that. This story is marvelously crafted (and yes, I've read through to the end, although I am reviewing for Chapter One). It's very...amazing. |
Daisydizzarella 2007-03-21 . chapter 3You are a very talented author, and this story was amazing. |
tearzofthestarz 2007-03-19 . chapter 3I really liked it. It just doesn't seem compleate. So can you add a last chapter to tie things up? It doesn't have to be long. |
out of the ashes 2007-03-18 . chapter 1very well written. im greatly impressed. keep up the good work! |
Woodentree 2007-03-17 . chapter 3This was.. I don't even know a word to describe it. Far better than great. I really love the way you write and it was great to see Peter as a human being. The end was perfect. And there could not have been any better last line than yours. Congrats. :) |
revolsepans 2007-03-15 . chapter 3excellent in everyway. But even though I KNOW it's most powerful because it ends right here, I WANT to have more! I'll just have to see what else you've written in order to satisfy my desire. |
The Red Lightning 2007-03-13 . chapter 3Man! That sequence with Hermione and Snape in the cot was beautiful, I nearly cried...it was so sweet, but I get a little angry at him when he was mad at her again poor girl... I wonder who sent that letter that just she could open? Was it from Snape? Wonderful ending... write more like this and I'll read ;D |
