2007-06-11 . chapter 1
"So he sits here with the Colt he knows he can’t fire and a bottle of Beam. There’s another gun beside him, too, an old Glock, but that one’s not for Sammy. It’s for him. He’d realized somewhere along the way that the road out of Never-Neverland is on the end of a bullet. The muzzle flash is the star that will guide him home if it comes to it, and he thinks it will, because Sammy is tired of fighting, never wanted to fight in the first place. And the truth is, he’s tired, too."

So sad.

The whole story wound together well, and told with a soft sad touch.

And this?

"“C’mon, Sammy,” he murmurs. “C’mon, Sammy.” And in his mind’s eye, he sees Sammy letting go of Aunt Judy’s armchair and toddling towards his outstretched arms."

Just take up boxing, please.

So sad. I hope Dean doesn't actually have to kill Sam in the show.

Awesome. This fic is, like, the definition of "unity of effect." Very well done.

Hey!
Just wanted to leave you a quick note to say how much I am enjoying your story...lovely long chapter, loved the flashbacks, especially the first one, sad and cute at the same time.
Please update soon!

Oh that last line. Completely and utterly destroyed me. This is beautifully written.

I think Sam was perfectly within his rights and should not be condemned at ALL for leaving but some fics give a slight sense of that, it's the only criticism I have to an otherwise amazing story.

And it's less of a criticism more a difference of opinion. I feel at times Sam's given the rough end of the stick and Dean is made the victim constantly, he chose his own way, as did Sam, Sam had the strength and conviction to go his own way and I don't think that's any fault of his own.

That being said, I thoroughly enjoyed this and thank you for writing it, it was an emotional and thoughtfull snapshot of their lives growing up and at the tragic end.

I know I've said it before, but it bears repeats: no one explores the dark and broken heart like you do.

I don't watch this show, but researched it briefly when another writer did a CSINY crossover, and learned enough to at least understand your cast of characters. It doen't matter now, though; it I started watching the show now, I would only see your Dean and Sam Winchester. You have the power to transform someone else's vision until it is all your own.
