Amazing, wonderful and truly moving.

I admire how you came up with the NWT's culture and tradition with so much excellent details.

Hahaha. My heart was racing all through out this fic. It was just one surprise after another. I was like 'will Pakku and Kana get married?' or 'Will Kana marry Kahasi' or 'will she marry some SWT man' but 'Katara was wearing Pakku's necklace on ATAB'... 'but Pakku and Kana seemed to have lost contact with each other on ATAB' ... 'could Sokka and Katara be Pakku's grandchildren?' ... 'could Kana be pregnant before she left the NWT' ... 'no. wait. This fic is T rated'! Yeah... you're work got my brain/imagination working like a crazy roller which is good actually.

In my opinion, the most cliche part was probably the flute thing... although it did give its few share of giddy moments. I kind like the fact that Pakku 'think' that he was actually sneaking out of his own household just to hear her play. lol.

Oh, and I have to admit that the 'stealing the blue coat' thing was a bit cliche but I loved how Pakku unconsciously jumped off the wall and the other stuff. so-so. I would have to say that every scene was well balanced from obvious now then onto surprise the next.

Seriously, I love how you developed Pakku's character. I love how you managed to slowly transfigure him from this arrogant, anti-social kid into this love struck man who couldn't let go of his tradition.

Kana on the other hand reminds me of Katara. ('çough' confusingly may be it should be other way around.)

Seriously, a wonderful-wonderful fic. There's just too many things I like about it that can't type about it here anymore 'cause it would flood this post and that would just be me blabbering all the way while singing you praises.

Though, despite the fact that Kana seems to have waited for Pakku to follow her after all those year... I can't help but feel like Pakku and Kana's romance was a bit one-sided with Pakku the only one who was really truthfully in love.

Oh my...just like all the rest of your stories, this one is beautiful, moving, and vivid. Not to mention bittersweet! Kudos! :)

Ah, what can I say? :P Here are the things I like about this fic:

1) I like the way you fleshed out the Northern Water Tribe customs and their way of life, as well as the way you made it one of the primary reasons for Kana leaving. In most of the fics I've encountered, NWT society was just there, but it never really played a central, important part to why she left. That was part of what made the story very believable. (I also liked the way you used NWT culture as a way to bring Pakku and Kana closer and get them to spend more time together =) )

2) Also liked the part where you showed Kana working for a living :) the details like doing her chores, sorting the spices for smoking the fish her dad brought in, etc really worked for building up a good solid background to her world

3) Pakku as a character just got a lot more interesting :) I like the way you painted him as someone who was too focused and needed to balance bending with the rest of his life, who was a bit antisocial and needed help with his people skills :) .

4) The thing about males having to escort females as a matter of courtesy - nice tip of the hat to gender / social issues.


There were some cliches like you mentioned. The flute situation and the boy-quarreling-with-girl-before-falling-in-love was predictable, as were other things, but I liked the way you did the transition of Pakku's feelings, from annoyance to love. It was very smooth / believable. Things happened in their own time and the pacing didn't feel rushed.

Pakku before he fell in love with Kanna didn't seem like the same Pakku after he fell in love; it was like a personality switch had been flipped. So was the pre-proposal Kanna and post-proposal Kanna.

All in all, one of the most well-thought out, solid and detailed Pakku/Kana stories I've read here in the Avatar world :-) . Hope you write more of them!

I loved this story for the sheer originality of it. It was so well written on how Pakku slowly came to love Kanna, and why she decided to leave.
