Aw, Zach. Great little fic. I'm a fresh Heroes fan (have only seen season 1 so far) and I loved Claire and Zach's friendship. I actually cried when his memory was wiped, and was sad that there wasn't more of him after he re-learned Claire's secret. Loved the fic. :)

I came back to read the other parts and I like this one a lot. It sums up Zach's confusion very well and how he feels about their friendship that he doesn't quite get.

Wow! You make the effort to keep Zach the way he is instead of how some other authors turn characters into something you wouldn't recognize anymore. Keep up the good work and I can't wait to read more from you.

Finally caught up with Heroes so I can read your two fics.
I really liked this bit:

"She’s told me all the stories, yet I still feel like I’m missing something. Like, sometimes she'll smile at me, and our eyes, like, catch. And then my heart races with adrenaline, like I’m playing an amped-up guitar solo; and I have to look away to clamp off the surge."

Gives me the impression that Zach remembers their connection at some level, despite the memory loss. Also shows that Claire can't tell him the whole story, because she 'doesn't know what they were before' to quote your last line, any more than Zach does.

Interesting one-shot!

There are so few stories with Zach in them that its good to see him featured even if its only a one-shot.
Short and sweet which worked well in this story. Keep writing stories cos its clear you have good talent writing them!

I liked it! I liked the idea that he might've been feeling something for Claire before his memory was erased but he doesn't know. =]

Aww! Zach! He's such a sweety! If only they had hooked up for real on the show! They were so cute together! And to be honest, this totally captures those embaressed, pretending not to care moments that everyone saw Zach having... all the times he would be incredibly sweet and smile at her... this is the perfect tribute to those moment. Bravo!

Aww this is lovely. I think you could up the angst a little bit more, but as it is it's still really nice.
