I love this story so much! It's so sad what happened to Mana and Allen in the end. Awesome writing!

I know I'm kinda late with reading and reviewing but still...
This is one of the most adorable, heart-twisting story in this genre that I've EVER read! I love it, I'm gonna spend som days on your next story, the one about Cross I think it was. Anyway You're amazing!

Forty-three chapters of pure brilliance. Little Allen has skills. I loved the descriptions in each chapter.

...(gapes, dumbstruck) You... you are brilliant! I barely know where to start!
First and foremost, I love this story for the characters. Allen and especially Mana seemed almost heartbreakingly real (there were times when I nearly cried because they were in pain) and unlike some of the other things I've read on this site, your original characters were truly that, original. I never had a problem remembering who they were, and ended up liking most of them. I'd love to see a short story where Allen happens to stumble across his 'circus family' after he's joined the Dark Order, I think it would be made of win :)
Secondly (and this probably isn't most people's number two, but hey, I'm a freak) I really loved the way you brought out the darker side of humanity in this story. Mana's nightmares were awesomely creepy (See? I'm a freak.) and I'm more than a bit jealous of how well you portrayed them. I really felt like I was listening to someone tell me about a nightmare they'd actually had. I also really liked the showcase of the Order's overzealousness (And the Ectasy of Saint Teresa, talk about religious art after Cross's own heart, heh). I think I was cheering along with everyone else when Mana took down Smith, despite how very, very wrong it was in some ways. You rock. And on the subject of Smith, or, rather, Allen's childhood prior to Mana's intervention... I think you did a very good job of handling multiple sensitive subjects.
Furthermore, I really appreciate the effort you seem to have made to keep this synched to cannon, while incorporating your own theroies and chatacters. You could easily throw in a small bit of editing here or there to make it perfect... or not and leave it the way it is. (What can I say? For me, it's the attention the author pays to little details that make a story, and in that reguard you are definately a first class author.)
I think the only bad thing I have to say about this is that I wish it was longer! It doesn't really need to be, and I like the way it flows too much to see you really change anything; I just read so quickly that the longer a chapter is, the bigger my smile gets. (For example, I believe I finished this entire story in under five hours. I really am a freak.)
...well, I think I've finally run out of things to say, aside from the fact that I wish this was cannon ;) And now I suppose I'll have to wander off and read everything else you've written. I'm not getting any sleep tonight, you horrible person you. I love you for it, though.

...normally I only review the last chapter of completed fics, but when looking through the reviews of this specific chapter on a whim, I was surprised that no one guessed tuberculosis/consumption for Mana's illness. As soon as he started coughing up blood, that was the first thing I thought of. Nice pick, too... it can take years for someone to die of that, and I love the way you've been foreshadowing it in previous chapters :)
