MinstrelofThelossea 2008-02-12 ch 1,	abuseI love this! It's rare to find a fic that shows the complexity of Avatar's main villain, but you've done it very well! I like how Ozai's thoughts are addressed to Iroh in this piece--the former's scorn for what he sees as his brother's weakness and foolishness really comes through. And even tho we can still clearly see that Ozai is evil and cruel, you do a really good job of explaining what his reasons might be for what he does and believes. I love everything about how you've characterized him in this piece--two parts i liked in particular were his dissatisfaction with being Azulon's "alternative" and how it seemed to him that Iroh was turning Zuko into an image of himself. Speaking of Zuko, i love how you let the reader find out (and recognize) the setting of the fic at the very end. When i first read this, i was just blown away by those last words. You know, what with knowing what Zuko was going to say, and what happened because of it... Man. Forshadowing is a powerful thing. (Or, i'm not quite sure if foreshadowing is what this was, but whatever it was, it was very powerful! lol) Anyway, great job! This is on my favorites' list.

PassedOutCold 2007-03-19 ch 1,	abuseYes, I always did imagine Ozai as having that classic "Scar" syndrome. (With Iroh being his Mufasa, of course.) I like this, it's well written and positively seethes with all things bitter, smug, and arrogantly Ozai.
