The General

Oh dear god. That was absolutely beautiful. I don't think I've ever read a Firefly/Serenity fic quite that... harmlessly amusing (and the fact that most of the stuff I read is post-Serenity and, therefore, Wash-less means that I really enjoyed his conversation with Kaylee). I mean, there are several funny ones I've read, and quite a few where no one gets hurt. But this one was so... I mean, there wasn't even any mentioned or implied gun fights. Honestly, I wish there were more Firefly/Serenity fics like this. Plus, I loved the conversations everyone had. How Kaylee and Wash were both scared and spent most of the time hugging, Simon's horrible awkwardness and Zoe's bland acceptance, not to mention of course the rather cute ending for Jayne and River (though I loved the description of Jayne's face as he was put into the box with River.) Honestly, this was just over all hilarious. Though I really have to wonder as to who the guy who locked 'em all in the crates was. The fact that you mentioned his name but didn't really describe him at all gave me the impression that he was from some other series or somewhere else and that you were borrowing him. Either way, this wins so much. Everyone was so true to character and funny. It was awesome.
