when your putting the lyrics in your story, how do you make it so that it's not in paragraphs? thx

I'm actually in the process of re-reading this fic and just really wanted to comment on this chapter. It is so well written. Everything from the two of them meeting up on the street to Ellie picking up the lighter is really great.

I found it interesting that near the beginning, Dally came across as though he didn't care that Ellie knew and they wouldn't be together anymore. I get that he cheated, but I always just assumed that to him it had been one drunken night and he had never been planning on getting back with Sylvia. But then Sylvia seemed to think he was planning on breaking up with Ellie and Dally was 'hoping it would sort itself out on it's own' which made me wonder if it really was just an excuse to end things with Ellie. Or, I just might have missed something, lol.

Steve! I heart Steve, I really do, but he's such an ass in this chapter and the ones leading up to it. I know from reading News that he totally makes up for it later, but he really pisses me off in these chapters even though it's completely in character for him to be being such a jerk.

I'll admit, I've read the break up scene more than once, lol. It gets me everytime, too. The bit just after she first calls out to him, where they're staring at each other ... so good. I can't even explain it, but it seem so real. Him knowing what he did but just waiting for her to start in on him and her not being able to say anything once she looks at him. Kinda heartbreaking.

I think you guys captured Dally really well. He was in the wrong, but he was an asshole about it and I think most girls can relate to that. His snappy comments when Ellie was clearly hurting make him so much more real, particularly his 'fuck off' near the end. I think that might be why I love this example more than any I've read of a break up scene after someone being caught cheating. You could totally get Ellie's pain from being cheated on, then to have Dally just shrug everything off made the pain even worse.

I loved how he stared at his lighter for a moment, as if he knew what giving it back meant, but deciding he just didn't care.

Okay, I think I'm done. Most of this has just been rambling about how much I love this chapter. I love the whole fic, but this chapter has always stuck with me (I think I even mentioned it in the 'what triggers you' thread on 731 once) and I wanted to give you guys some kudos for it. Really great job and totally realistic. Looking forward to One Headlight.

this chapter was really good, i love how the song fit into it, most of the song lyrics added in are a bit confusing but you guys worked harder to breathe in PERFECTLY lol, i hope more chapters to have intricate, understandable, *clever!* lyrical themes!

Interesting how their relationship has become complicated, in a sense. Dallas and Ellie both have some issues they obviously haven't completely worked out.

Ha! I liked the running banter between Tim and Will, as well as some of the back story on Dallas's life. :)

Ouch! Poor Ellie.

And that sucks that the cops can't do much for the situation. But maybe one day... :)
