this story is good!! even though i didn't read it i felt that i have know it muc.

I have to tell you, this happens to be my favourite Gordon Korman book, and you nailed the two characters beautifully! Not once did I think that something was just not right. I grinned just as widely at Rudy's antics in this fic as I did during the actual book.

For a second there, I thought I was reading a missing scene from the book! You've got Rudy and Mike down perfectly here, especially speech patterns. Can I hope that the Icing Incident will be detailed in another story? IWTGH is my second fave Korman book (right behind Semester in the life of a garbage bag) and you're reminding me exactly why I'm so glad I have a copy on my bookshelf.

"Where you'll be staying?" Mike echoed blankly.

"Here, of course," Rudy replied, his tone implying the stupidity of the question. "Injuries don't just heal on their own, you know. They need supervision."

That line made me cry. I was laughing that hard. I love this story. It shows that Rudy and Mike will have a longlasting friendship that can survive anything. Not to mention that I can imagine this bit going in a sequel to "I Want to Go Home". Yes, it is that good.

I will never, EVER forget the beaver incident with Mike's guitar...Even though it's been a while (okay, since February, when my roommate got ticked with me for laughing out loud, hysterically, when I was reading one of his books), I can still remember this book *almost* perfectly. Too bad it's now up in the attic. :(
