I really, really love this! This chapter was especially amazing to me! I could really feel where Ashe was coming from! You are doing something really great here! Your storytelling skills are something else, as well as you characterization of everyone! It is right on point! A true masterpiece if I've ever read one! The verbal jousting (accompanied with emotions) between our beloved couple were such an enjoyment it almost pains me for not reading more of your works...I guess I could always go back and re-read Hunger of the Heart :)

Very fun, as usual. I hope you continue more with Balthier x Ashe material. I wish you had not taken the other story down. I really liked it. I hope you do something else with it instead!

The only thing I found wrong with this segment is that there were many words without spaces between them. Not altogether bothersome but still noticeable. Well done though!

These stories are all fun to read, but this chapter about Balthier's mother was especially powerful. I've never read a story specifically dealing with his parents, and I loved their interactions. Usually I imagine his mother as a fragile aristocrat, but I find I really like this concept; a progressive, free-thinking woman... and perhaps it was her sense of adventure that led to an untimely death. Great interactions with Cid as well as young Ffamran, and a terrific personality. I can see why Balthier would fall in love with a strong woman like Ashe, after having first loved and appreciated a woman like Ines.

That filthy pirate! This was a nice little treat! I may as well review your chapter 4 while I'm here too, because of all the things you've written that I've had the pleasure of reading, it was my favorite. I was left wanting to know so much more about Ines, her life before Cidolfus and how that fateful trip to Giruvegan ended. You made the crazy Dr. Cid romantic and fully real, and I have no doubts that that shrewd little boy became Balthier, the man. I loved the conflict Ines has between staying in Archades with her beloved family, but wanting freedom of her own at the same time. I absolutely loved it.

And of course, cuts off the second half of my review. Heart Katy, of course. I tease because I love. Anyway! This was awesomeness made solid or some other grand phrase involving the word awesome. Many many squees!

I'd say something eloquent but how could I possibly top Katy's mastery of the English language? XD (

I love how much B-thier seems to exist in his parents, and I much enjoyed pre-crazy Cidolfus. Ines seems like a really interesting character and it's always fascinating to juxtapose the duties and responsibilities of a mother with the innate instinct to do what one wants. I liked it very much.
