I'd have probably called it 'I stand', but that's because I don't have much imagination. As a person who is not fond of poetry, being told that it is good may or may not mean as much as when it comes from those who DO like poetry, but oh well. It was a good poem, and I'm going to shut up now.

Ooh, I like it! I had to look at this one carefully, because while in my opinion Holmes does possess these qualities and emotions, I find them to be largely in his subconscious. It is those villains like Moriarty, or Sterndale perhaps, that bring them to the surface. Well done!

My turn to say "Wow!" That is an amazing poem. The structure and rhythm fit perfectly and remind me very strongly of Holmes. Very moving. It is an excellent achievement and I shall look out for other works of yours.

I love the juxtaposition between the poem, which seems almost like a buddhist meditation chant, with the rhythm and the repetition, and then the SNAP of an ending, those two lines from "The Final Problem." Well done.

Oh, this is really nice! I like the idea of Holmes standing between evil and everyone else. It's like what Watson said to Holmes at the end of the Red Headed League (the Jeremy Brett one): "You are a benefactor of the race, Holmes". Real nice, and the rhyming went very smoothly! (rhyming in poetry is something I find hopelessly difficult)

Excellent, you have "absolutely" enlightened me as to that moment when the confrontation takes place between Moriarty and Holmes. The quote at the end just makes the story. It sums it up in a few short words. Great to the 4th power! If you have anything else to publish, please please please do so.

M, I don't know how you say this poem is "more like prose". It's actually nothing like prose, but the very opposite. It even has a song structure, I wonder u didn't based it on an actual song. Although I think it's well written, I didn't quite like it; I think it lacks a little creativity. Sounds like several cliche lines put together with the "I stand" bit. Now, being this a poem and not a story it's likely that my opinion might change as this is merely my very first impresion -- that's how poetry works.. it needs time.

I'm not usually a reader of poetry but I thought that this was a great piece. I enjoyed its simplicity and the speaker's tone, Holmes, is lovely; you've managed to have that mix of arrogance and heroic nature that our Holmes has. Job well done and hope to see more from you!
