Why? B/c it's that good.
In fact, this might honestly be my fav. fic of yours. Might be... Might be.
The pathos in it is just heart-wrenching, and the detail, and the achievement of true panic and fear, the urgency in your structure... It all culminates and boils over, scorching our hearts; as it *should*.
His name-change never bothered me. I never questioned it; figuring a situation like this, and you perfectly articulated my thoughts! Especially when he failed to save Cloud. [I've always imagined that as a possible cornerstone to their whatevership.]
