[Pondering] Orochimaru is snake villain, like Voldemort, right, arrogant and seeking immortality? And since there are many fictions where Tom Marvolo Riddle turns out to be brilliant, charming, genius (maybe, slightly insane, and researching forbidden arts, but hiding all of this well enough that nobody even thinks to suspect him) who attacks only to protect himself or his family, not out of greed... Is there any fiction where Orochimaru is cold, charming, brilliant genius, who has a lot of influence, but doesn't use his darker sides until necessary (to protect himself, his family, his village)... Is there any fiction where Orochimaru is better Hokage than Danzo could ever be? Butterfly effect... The edge between genius, like young Orochimaru was, and homicidal maniac, like old Orochimaru became, is difficult to define. Is it possible to have Orochimaru brilliant, subtle, genius, instead of homicidal, maniac, power-hungry? Is it possible to have Orochimaru time-travelling due to regret during his death, regretting the war, regretting the loneliness?

Good luck. Couldn't Jiraiya get 'simple' time-travel, where in his young body young and old personalities slowly blend, and different sets of memories, somewhat conflicting, slowly settle, causing a migraine-headache, strong enough to be a believable excuse to not be with team today, and also allowing Jiraiya to give 'young reactions' when needed, and temporarily ignore memories about his team-mate Orochimaru becoming a villain, temporarily ignore his old memories in order for his behaviour to remain unsuspicious...

i love this story i always thought the only reason jiraiya was a pervert was because he didnt want to think of tsunade i always felt tsunade and jiraiya were meant to be together

okay, so i voted for 'Tou-san' on your poll, but I'm def changing that vote to this story... awesome stuff... you do a fantastic job with Jiraiya's emotions in this, particularly the part where he has Tsunade's old crush shoved in his face... I've never actually seen a story where Jiraiya goes back in time, and he is one of my all-time favorite characters, so yeah, def changing my vote to this story...

Loved your Jiraiya . You allowed him to grieve when necessary & I truly appreciate it. I read fics that featured Jiraiya acting absolutely fine when he came face to face with his dead sensei & traitorous Orochimaru .

Hope you would update it , although I am not having much hope since the last time you updated was more than a year ago .

I do hope you would continue though , since it would be a pity to stop writing such a nice story. It's rare to find a story that someone does not completely fucked it up.
