Por Clark! Por Lois! So much angst. Great fic. I'm sure I'll read this at least a dozen more times.

One of the best one-shots I have ever read in this universe.

I just read the story and I must say that my heart is crushed. He loves that boy and his mother so much but can't be with them. And since I have read the other stories ralated I can't help feel like Jason is really cruel. Don't get me wrong! I know the boy was hurting because he didn't know many things about his father, but I'll always see Clark as the one who suffered the most. The world in his shoulders, without the woman he loves and that loves him too, away from his son and the boy hates his guts. That is too sad... A man so full of love and eager to share that with his family having to leave alone for so long.

I really love this chapter because it's a light to show his heart and now I wish to see what his live will be with Lois finally by his side as his wife.

That was beautiful. You've captured Clark's voice so well, and with such heartfelt and heartbreaking scenes. I was half-expecting Lois to admit that she knows Clark is Superman from that perfect dialogue... great job.

Please continue the story and give Lois and Clark a good ending. Please...I love Clark's voice in this story so much. Please continue it...please... Thank you!

First, love the quote at the beginning. So true. L-O-V-E-D the glimpse into Clark/Superman. You write him so well. Battle indeed. As I've said before, I wasn't a Superman fan (more Batman fan for me but never read a fanfic yet), and then my kids took me to Superman Returns. Still, not completely hooked until I found "Shadow of My Father" story. This fits write in perfectly. So much of this fic made me think of scenes and dialogues from other stories in this series. You do amazing with keeping all in your universe true. Outstanding writing. It just makes me want more.

Loved the "three-way" conversation with Lois, Jason, and Clark. Well done with what I surmise would have been difficult to write.

Lois is great in this, talking to herself. "In a perfect world... you would have never left me." A sentence that says a paragraph. So good.

And Clark, "But I understood her fully," Yes, yes he does. Thanks for sharing. Truly beautiful.

You, write beautifully, you really do, it's just that it's so hard to read because i know how it's going to turn out, and end up with so much bitterness. And it's hard to hear the reasoning behind Clark's logic... beacause i'd rather just assume he was being an idiot, now i can't hide behind that assumtion. I now know that Clark meant to do what he did, and i feel dissappointed in him somehow...

You have me hooked on Superman fanfic...that's it, it's over! How could you do this to me? That was absolutely wonderful! Clark's voice was so, so...so accurate! I was lost in your story, I truly was. I could picture Clark squawking to answer the door, roughly pushing on his glasses, and acting like the bumbling nerd that he is...it was amazing! Truly wonderful! And now, i'm going to harass you about how you can even write about Superman with all the comics and the different movies, and Smallville...you've opened up a whole new world to me! GOOD ONE!

I only have one criticism, your line: "It wasn’t a deeply satisfying win" - I would change the word win to victory!
