The building of tension is great but the plot does go slowly for me so I reviewed after every other chapter. But don't worry, I do read this fic since I really want to know what's going to happen. If the title of your chapters is anything to go by, I would guess that the short scenes in every chapter is by design.

And ahem, the exchange between Machi and Hisoka here is intriguing. They're talking about something that happened between them in the past and I have yet to figure it out. But I guess Ill just know it after your update no? _

Your descriptive language is very good. The only problem I have is that it's too short for a first chapter w/c is critical to setting the plot of the story especially since you also give nothing away in the summary. But that's just me I guess ;) The fic still has a very good start since your writing's good.
