That was really quite good. I liked how all the people were in their character. That is what I'd thought Sam had shown Jacob that night, as well. It really is sad, isn't it?
I hate that there aren't enough of these kinds of stories out there; about the wolves. Backstories are always way more interesting and they deserve reviews equally with the fanfics about the vampires. But, yet, we don't get those kind of reviews. Don't be discouraged: I know this is a one-shot, but I felt compelled to write a review like this. Even my own story, The Third Wife, I've had over 300 hits, but only 11 reviews.

Nicely done! Have you read 'Being Jacob Black' on Ms. Meyer's site? She portrayed him as so happy go lucky until he changed for the first time. You are very close in your description of Jacob's feelings during this conversation.
