Harry's final trust allowed Severus to finally forgive himself. A deep and thoughtful sentiment. When I read your shorts and stories I see things in a dream like quality, they relax and enchant me, they concern themselves with the all important times of reflection and evaluation that happen in between all the action. Also like the "without exception, without mercy" phrase -- seeing all those events and names written down black on white has to make things starkly real again and bring back a lot of pain.

Nice nod to various fanfics - many of those are on my favorites list, too!

It is satisfying to think that Snape has finally acquired the status and recognition he always craved - not that we know he would have wanted to become headmaster, but he did desire to be acknowledged (as we see from his disappointment in PoA when he loses out on his Order of Merit.) I hope he has mellowed slightly, otherwise Hogwarts is in for a tough regime.
So does the book contain every detail - a full confession? Wow! That would be worth reading.

Reading your story and recognising so many of the references, made me realise two things: 1) That I have probably spent way too much time reading HP fics! and 2) that the references enrich and add depth to your own story, reminding us of those other fics which we have enjoyed and shared. Excellent compliment to your first story - this is a very different Hermione from the one we see in the books, as she must be, if there is to be anything between her and Snape.

There’s a great sense of peace and serenity in this story.
It seems that our Severus is managed to forgive himself for his past though not to forget it and, at last he can accept the more or less sincere recognition of the wizarding world.
I am happy that in his future Hermione will have an important role, as friend or lover is not essential, what counts is the complicity and the communion of spirits they both have reached here, in Hogwarts.
However, above all, I am glad that in the end Severus has gained Harry’s trust because I strongly believe that it’s what will happen in JKR’s last pages. So I enjoy that you underlined this result.
The true intent of the whole saga is telling the events that will bring near Harry and Severus, while together will vanish the Dark Lord.

Thanks for the tribute :)). I recognised most of the titles as I'm a fan of their work too, though I wasn't sure if that was what you were doing till two of mine were quoted in successive sentences. Actually, "Who Lives in Disguise" is as much a canon quote as any of Possum's titles ...
